M37 - Open Cluster in Auriga

M 37 (NGC 2099) is an open star cluster in the consellation of Auriga, the Charioteer. It was discovered by the Italian astronomer Giovanni Battista Hodierna before 1654. Charles Messier independently rediscovered M37 in 1764. The cluster lies approximatly 4,500 light years away and spans 25 light years.

Guiding: STV with 105mm Takumar lens
Exposures: 3 @ 5 minutes
Processing: Images were calibrated and added in ImagesPlus. The composite was adjusted (Levels, Curves) in Photoshop 7.
